Hem salvage edges of burlap by turning back 1" on each side and stitch or glue.  Turn down top of banner 3" and turn over again to make double thickness.  Stitch the bottom of this folded edge.  Stitch another row 1" above and parallel to the previous stitching to make a tunnel for dowel rod.  At bottom of banner, stitch another row 3" from edge as a stop guide for the fringe.  Pull threads below this line.  Use 3" letters for name, 2" letters for message and 1" letters for Scripture. Attach a card with the name of the candidate on outside of rolled-up banner.

Palanca
Palanca should be dropped off Friday night for the weekend. You may add bed Palanca during the day Saturday. Place the palanca in the Palanca room. The team will distribute it to the bags. Banners and neck Palanca needs to come with the candidates Friday night. Please work witht the sponsor if you are buying larger items. They can co-ordinate these gifts to help keep it in line. Remember, Fourth Day is a GREAT time to give your candidate or friend a special gift.
